Letter opener - multibar Turkish twists Damascus steel- take down

€1,200.00

Introducing my newest finished work — a true labor of love and craftsmanship.

Blade: Three twisted-bar damascus with a precision-milled fuller for balance and visual depth.
Hardware: Sand-blasted guard, collar, and pommel, all crafted from 416 stainless steel for durability and a refined matte finish.

Damascus blade is forged using carefully selected high-carbon steels to produce a striking, durable pattern and superior cutting performance. The dark (black) layers are forged from 1.2842 high-carbon steel, and the light (white) layers are made from 1.2767 — chosen specifically for its approximately 4% nickel content. That nickel-rich 1.2767 contributes bright contrast, enhanced corrosion resistance, and improved toughness in the white layers, while the 1.2842 provides the hard, wear-resistant core in the darker layers. Together these steels forge a balanced blade that offers strong edge retention, dependable resilience, and an attractive, high-contrast Damascus pattern unique to each piece.

Handle: Rich desert ironwood, hand-shaped and polished for a warm, ergonomic grip that complements the blade’s texture.
Design: Take-down construction for easy transport, care, and maintenance.

  • Blade thickness: 6 mm

  • Cutting edge length: 18 cm

  • Overall length (tip to buttcap): 35 cm

This knife balances stout strength with precise control. The 6 mm spine gives exceptional durability for heavy-duty kitchen tasks and confident chopping, while the 18 cm edge provides a versatile cutting length for most professional and home prep work. At 35 cm overall, the proportions offer a comfortable reach and solid handle engagement for repeat use.

Design notes:

  • Damascus patterning on the blade for both aesthetics and surface resilience.

  • Full-tang construction recommended to match blade thickness and overall length for optimal balance and longevity.

  • Scales shaped for ergonomic grip; buttcap included for secure handling during forceful cuts.

  • Ideal for chefs who want a robust, long-lasting knife that still performs well for precise slicing and dicing.

Care tips:

  • Hand wash and dry immediately to protect the Damascus finish.

  • Regular honing and occasional professional sharpening to maintain the 18 cm edge.

  • Light oiling of the blade to prevent spotting if not stainless alloy.

Included a hand-stitched leather sheath and a small disassembly key with your knife.

Leather sheath

  • Full‑grain, vegetable‑tanned leather, hand‑stitched with waxed linen thread and shaped to your knife’s profile.

  • Burnished, finished edges and a stitched belt loop for secure carry.

  • Snug retention fit keeps the blade secure while allowing a smooth, confident draw.

Disassembly key

  • Compact hex/key with a desert ironwood cap, sized to remove the pivot and standoff fasteners on your knife.

  • Small and durable — easy to carry on a keyring or store in the sheath pocket.

Packaging

  • Your knife will be delivered sheathed, with the disassembly key tucked into the sheath pocket and wrapped for protection.

Care notes

  • Keep leather away from prolonged moisture and condition periodically with a neutral leather balm.

  • Use the key only when the blade is clean and dry. Apply a drop of light oil to the pivot threads when reassembling.
